Merry Christmas, Linds. Here's Your Appendix.

Yep, after a VERY long night in the ER Sunday night, I went into surgery Monday morning.

Of course, this would only happen to me 2 weeks before Christmas when I haven't done ANYTHING to get Christmas stuff done.

Procrastination is killing me.
My sister was nice enough to get this one of me right after surgery.

I blew an IV.
Apparently from my track marks, they must give you heroine for that.
5 days after and it still looks like this.

I'm feeling much better, just really tired. Other than that, I'm good. Work on Monday!

Holla last attempt. I need to get Christmas cards out.

I need addresses PUH-LEASE!!!!

So if you want one, send me your address

Check them.

My good friends Alcoholiday just released their debut EP.

Release party was Saturday night. Such a great show.

Listen to them. The EP is lovely.

You can find them at

My sister's kids.

Kenedy, Wyatt and Rhett stayed with us Friday and Saturday. Here's a few highlights of the weekend:
-Showing the kids how to be gangsta (see pictures). Rhett didn't take his off all afternoon.
-Convincing them that cleaning Aunt Lindsay's room is the best idea ever because they will always get free stuff out of it. Like bandanas. And Halloween candy. And bags of trash.
-Haircuts for all of them. [Ratty kids.]
-Rhett doing his best howling wolf impression.
-Laughing hysterically at me and Ashley doing any other animal sounds like we were dumb.
-Wyatt showing me how to shake his booty. Instead of side to side it was front to back.
-Pictures in Sunday clothes. Wyatt telling me that it's not Sunday and he doesn't like this.
-Telling Kenedy Thatcher has a mall. She highly disagreed. I assured her there was a mall in Thatcher and it's name is Wal-Mart.

I'm going to start something. Tuesday's Quote. Hopefully I can keep up on it...
So for the first...

If you live to be 100, I hope I live to be 100 minus 1 day, so I never have to live without you.

6 things about me. This should be good. Thanks Andrea!

1.) I have the strangest eating habits for a 23 year old. I'm a really picky eater. No really. Textures, flavors, you name it, I will probly have a problem with it. I'm hard to try new food too. I like cheese but it can't be melted. I like milk but it has to be skim and in cereal or with cookies or be chocolate milk. I like water but I can only drink it from a cup with ice. I like meat, but I'm picky when I eat it. It can't be wet like in soup or in a casserole or something. I can't eat it in chunks when it's cooked into something. I will even pick around in in spaghetti sauce. I won't eat eggs, I won't touch fish. EVER. When I have found something I will eat, I pick through it like a 2 year old. My friends have been known to tell me they love watching me eat just to see what I will do with my plate. I'm the baby, what do you expect?

2.) My family is like the Brady Bunch, no kidding, well minus the 3 girls 3 boys part. There's actually 5 girls and 1 boy. My mom had 3 kids, my dad had 3, they got married when I was 4, making our family a family of 8. There's Whitney, Tera, Josh, Jerry, Ashley, and me, all 8 years apart. Plus everyone is married but me. Lucky me!

3.) I have a weird thing for earlobes. When I was little, I was known for jumping up on people's laps (mostly guys, missionaries were my favorite) and rubbing their earlobes between my fingers. My dad will tell you one of the first things he remembers about me is playing with his earlobes. Even to this day when I'm snuggling with someone and I'm half awake, I will rub their earlobes without knowing I am even doing it.

4.) I was named after the Bionic Woman, Lindsay Wagner. My mom failed to tell me this up until a few years ago. I think it's the coolest thing I've ever heard of in my life. You can find her on the Sleep Number Bed commercials now. I wear the name proud.

5.) I don't have a guilt complex, I forgive too easy, and I get over things really quick. One thing I have learned: LIFE GOES ON...NO ONE IS GOING TO BE MAD EXCEPT FOR YOU!!!

6.) I hate talking on the phone. In fact, I try to avoid it altogether. I'm a texting whore. Don't get offended if I don't return your phone calls, I don't even check my voicemail for a week or so. I'm much better at answering texts.

Now that you know some dirt on me, I wanna know some about you! I tag Jamie Yetter, Katie Ernst, and whoever else wants to do it!!!

My Secret Diary

I thought I had lost it or someone took it.
(I have an unhealthy phobia of people knowing what I think about. could this have ANYTHING to do with my 4 big sisters sisters reading my journals growing up?? I know, I need therapy. That's another post.)
About a month or so ago I noticed it was missing. Mind you I don't go ANYWHERE without it. If I do, I know EXACTLY where I left it as I write in it daily. I looked top to bottom, everywhere!! I couldn't find it! then yesterday as I was getting a water bottle from behind my seat of my truck, there it was! I seriously felt like I found a lost puppy or something! There it was, just waiting for me!

It's not really secrets, no names are named, no situations are mentioned, if anyone did read it they wouldn't have the slightest clue what I'm talking about and would probably think I really am crazy, it's just a collection of my thoughts. It's full of all kinds of emotions, things i'm passionate about, things I find humorous, things I think about, things that i feel are worth writing down. Sometimes just to get them off my mind. Sometimes I paste in pictures, song lyrics, quotes, just things that I want to remember. And I have it back!!

I spent a couple hours last night writing in it, I wrote 6 pages. I surprised myself, mostly because what was written wasn't about anything in particular, just thoughts. Thoughts to people, thoughts to myself. And I actually slept peacefully for the 1st time in months.

Cheers to my secret diary!

A few tattoos aren't going to keep me out of Heaven

Sweet half sleeve, right?? And can you believe it was only $15 (give or take a few quarters)?! I didn't really have time to throw something really cool together this year, but I did want to dress up, so I actually did my hair and makeup, put on a dress and heels, some fake eyelashes and went to the Mexican food place across the street and bought up some rub on tattoos!

Here's the thing: I love tattoos. I don't know where I get it from, but I do love them. I think sleeves are sweet, so what better day to do a "trial" sleeve than Halloween? It's addicting, and I want one for real.

Mauve and Butterflies.

My power color is mauve...i knew that dress I wore at Mom and Dad's wedding in 1988 was important. And we all know how I LOVE butterflies since I bought my first Mariah Carey album circa '92. GAG ME. Whatev. It's funny.

Your Birthdate: August 2

You're so intuitive, it's like you have a sixth, seventh, and eighth sense.
You connect with others freely and easily - and you tend to have many best friends.
Warm and caring, it's hard for you to close your heart to anyone.
Affection is like air for you - you need to give and receive it to survive.

Your strength: Your universal compassion

Your weakness: Your unpredictable mood swings

Your power color: Mauve

Your power symbol: Butterfly

Your power month: February

I Love a Great Deal

The last month I've had the WORST time finding ANYTHING when I've gone shopping. So today after my doctor appointment this morning, I decided I had a little bit of time so I stopped by the Tempe Marketplace on the way back to work. I wasn't expecting to find anything really, maybe a sundress for the weekend since we're going to Lake Powell. But I totally lucked out! Found tons of WAY cute things, all on sale except the hat! Well, I found the necklace last night, but still a great deal so I had to share!!

$6.97 at American Eagle. 24" chain. Goes with anything. I love it.

$29.50 at PacSun. I got it in black. Of course, I'm small so it's longer on me.

$14.50 at Anchor Blue. I love the bird.

$7.97 at Tilly's. Great for swimming. And the lake this weekend.

I also got a pair of board shorts from PacSun for...get ready...$6.50!

5 Reasons Why I love fall

1. The colors! They're all so warm and inviting! The leaves changing colors and falling is one of my favorite things to see all year. Too bad in Arizona we only get to see it in magazines usually, but the few trees that do change here, I love it!

2.Bundling up! Last fall we went to Paris and I absolutely LOVED it. We got to bundle up every day and the city was BEAUTIFUL. The leaves changing and falling was my favorite! I can't wait to go back! And what girl doesn't like to hide some "problem areas" with a cute pea coat, sweater, or hoodie?!

3. HALLOWEEN! It's my favorite holiday BY FAR!! And who doesn't like to dress up?? This was a couple years ago when I dressed up as a Mexican, Ashley's a nurse, and Angie's a goldigger! The pictures don't do it justice! Lucky for me I have friends that love dressing up too, so Scott and Ashley throw a Halloween party every year!

4. The GREAT DECORATING IDEAS!! If I had it my way, I would decorate this way all year round. I mean, I do have a black wall in my room. My mom always buys great decorating magazines so Sunday afternoons after dinner, us girls raid the ads and magazines! This month's are really great...go get them!

5. TREATS! One of my favorite memories growing up was that my mom always made sure we made treats on EVERY holiday. Now when the grandbabies come to visit we get to help them decorate cookies, make caramel apples, and other fun cute stuff! I like this cake from Martha Stewart...she's seriously a domestic genious!
